As someone who&#8217;s worked intimately with construction and design professionals, I can say that a quality building will last decades if we properly plan and care for the building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Foundation, structure, fixture systems, plumbing, and electrical systems\u2014can perform successfully before needing major repairs or replacement. Most contemporary buildings are designed for a longevity of 50 to 100 years or more, with variability based on construction methodology, climate, and upkeep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Average Lifespan of Major Building Components<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here\u2019s a realistic breakdown that professionals often consider:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Structural frame (concrete or steel):<\/strong> 75\u2013100 years<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Roofing systems:<\/strong> 20\u201340 years<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Electrical wiring:<\/strong> 30\u201340 years<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Plumbing systems:<\/strong> 30\u201350 years<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning):<\/strong> 15\u201325 years<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Windows and exterior doors:<\/strong> 20\u201330 years<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While these numbers provide a general guide, good maintenance can extend these lifespans significantly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Factors That Affect a Building\u2019s Lifespan<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1.
